• Federal Student Loan: Federal funds made available to 学生 that must be paid back by 学生. Students must have filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), complete Entrance Counseling and a Master Promissory Note (MPN) to receive these loans. Repayment begins six months after 学生 ceases to be enrolled at least half-time with options to delay payment available. To be eligible, 学生 must be enrolled at least half-time in an eligible program of study. 

• Federal Direct Subsidized Student Loan: Loan funds provided to 学生 by the U.S. 教育部，通过学校. Undergraduate students with financial need can qualify for a subsidized loan. The government pays the interest on the loan while 学生 remains enrolled at least half time and during certain periods when the government allows deferment of repayment. 每年的借款额度是有限制的, which vary by 学生's academic year in school and 学生's dependent or independent status.
